Aureo y Calicó sale 422, lot 2670

This specimen was lot 2670 in Aureo y Calicó sale 422 (Barcelona, December 2023), where it sold for 70 € (about US$91 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "1641. Felipe IV. València. 1 divuitè. Pátina de monetario. MBC [nice patina, very fine]." This type is listed in the SCWC for 1621-25, 1638-59. It is catalogued therein as a real but it is too light (should be 3.38 g). It was called a divuité in Valencia and a dieciocheno in Madrid, both of which mean one eighteenth, but we're not sure of what, as 1/18 of a peso would be about 1.50 g.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a more available date.

Specifications: 0.931 fine silver, this specimen 2,36 g.

Catalog reference: KM 15, AC. 817, Cayón-5745.
