This specimen was lot 34069 in Heritage sale 3106 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $3,360. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Utrecht. Provincial silver Double Ducaton (2 Silver Rider) 1776 AU55 NGC. A desirable representative of this weighty type, fit with appreciable devices that face up particularly fine on the obverse. Whispers of periwinkle and lemon tone rest gently in the fields, along with underlying mint bloom." Single ducatons were struck in this style 1739-94. Double ducatons aren't listed in the SCWC but are well attested for many dates.

Specification: 65.56 g, 0.941 fine silver; this specimen 65.12 g.
