SB720-91082r.jpg

This specimen was lot 91082 in Stack's Bowers October 2018 sale, where it sold for $70. The lot description noted, "2007-W Silver Eagle. Proof-69 Ultra Cameo (NGC)." The mint inaugurated the silver eagle bullion coin in 1986 to compete with similar offering from other countries, such as Mexico ("Libertad") and Canada ("Maple Leaf"). Normally, West Point and Philadelphia divide the task of striking these; in 2007, West Point made the proofs and "burnished uncirculated" and the regular issue sold in bulk.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine silver, 40.6 mm diameter. Designed and engraved by John Mercanti.
