This specimen was lot 12734 in Stack's Bowers October 2018 auction, where it sold for $600. The lot description noted, "2007-W First Spouse Gold Bullion Coin. Dolley Madison. Proof-69 Deep Cameo (PCGS)." The mint inaugurated the presidential dollar series in 2007. To honor the presidential spouses, half ounce gold coins were issued featuring them up to Nancy Reagan. Dolley Madison is featured here, saving state papers and the Gilbert Stuart portrait of Washington from invading British soldiers.
Recorded Mintage: 11,813 + 17,661 proofs (all mintmarked "W").
