This is the final year of issue for this type which was superseded by the Standing Liberty quarter. San Francisco struck no quarters in 1916 but Denver would add another 6,540,000. This specimen was lot 92263 in Stack's Bowers March 2021 Collectors Choice Online Auction, U.S. Currency & U.S. Coins, where it sold for $312. The lot description noted, "1916 Barber Quarter. MS-63 (PCGS). CAC. OGH."

Recorded mintage: 1,786,000 of the Barber design plus 52,000 of the Standing Liberty.

Specification: 6.25 g, 0.900 fine silver, .1808 troy oz ASW, 24.3 mm diameter, designed by Charles Barber.
