This type, struck 1853-55 in large quantities, is available in circulated condition. The weight was reduced from 1.34 g to 1.24 g in 1853, along with the other silver coinage, and arrows added 1853-55 to note the change.
Recorded mintage: 13,210,000 (highest mintage of all half dimes).
Specification: 1.24 g, 0.900 fine silver, .035 troy oz ASW, 15.5 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by Christian Gobrecht.
