Uganda 1966 5 cents

from the Mountain Groan Collection

This type was struck in 1966 and 1974-75 but no date is rare. Elephant tusks decorate the obverse. Political instability and inflation in Uganda has reduced coinage to the occasional emission of NCLT's.

Recorded mintage: 41,000,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 3.21 g, bronze, 20 mm diameter.
