This specimen was lot 2039 in Jean Elsen sale 163 (Brussels, November 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALIE, TOSCANE, Léopold II de Lorraine (1824-1859), AR 1/2 francescone, 1834, Florence. Très rare. (Italy, grand duchy of Tuscany, Leopold II of Lorraine, silver hafl francescone of 1834, Florence mint. Very rare, about Extremely Fine.)"

This one year type is rare. The five paoli was one half of a francescone, the Tuscan equivalent of a piastra.

Specification: 13.75 g, 0.917 fine silver, 31 mm diameter, lettered edge.
