This specimen was lot 21431 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $1,265. The catalog description[1] noted, "Tuscany. Leopold II gold Zecchino 1832, MS61 NGC, fully lustrous, the reverse features John the Baptist." This ducat or zecchino or fiorino is listed in the SCWC for 1824-32 and 1853. The reverse features John the Baptist. It is the last ducat struck in the duchy. In 1807, the grand duchy was annexed to France, to be returned to the Austrians in 1815.
