This specimen was lot 74701 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY. 6 Kurush, AH 1223 Year 29 (1836). Istanbul (Constantinople) Mint. Mahmud II. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, Unc Details. Despite the noted cleaning, this example maintains much appeal and allure, with strong details and much retained presentability." It was offered again as lot 75600 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $125. This type was struck years 26-32 and has a low catalog value.
