This specimen was lot 75646 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $149. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY. Ottoman Empire. 1-1/2 Kurush, AH 1223 Year 29 (1836). Istanbul (Constantinople) Mint. Mahmud II. NGC MS-63. Top pop; pop: 2." This type was struck years 26-32. Debasement was continuous throughout the sultan's reign and coinage types were usually shortlived. Sixty para equalled 1½ kurush.
