This specimen was lot 2397 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $78. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Mahmud II, 1808-1839, AR 20 para, Kostantiniye, AH1223 year 30, a lovely quality lustrous example! PCGS graded MS65." The auctioneers slipped up on this example, which is actually a one para from regnal year 24. In general, thirty para made a zolota and forty para made a kuruş, altho frequent devaluations made a hash of the system. This type, included in the eighth issue, is listed for years 22-25 and is not supposed to come in Uncirculated.
