This specimen was lot 485 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Selim III, 1789-1807, AR piastre, Islambul, AH1203 year 18, rare date (as are 17 & 18, with year 19 very rare); strong strike for this type, XF, ex Kenneth A. Bovenkamp Collection." This type was struck years 1 thru 19.
