The first specimen was lot 2292 in Sincona sale 59 (Zürich, October 2019), where it sold for 180 CHF (about US$218 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"OSMANISCHES REICH | ´Abd al-Hamîd I., 1187-1203 H./1774-1789 AD, Kurush 1187 H./Jahr 15, Qustantînîya (Konstantinopel/Istanbul). Tughra in zweiter Form, rechts neben der Tughra eine Blume, darunter Münzstätte und Jahr des Regierungsanfangs, Rv. Titel sultân al-barrayn .... mit dem Regierungsjahr über dem Ende der dritten Zeile. Seltener Jahrgang. Vorzüglich. (Turkey, Abdul Hamid I, 1774-89, kurush of AH 1187, year 15, Constantinople mint. Obverse: Tughra in second form, to the right of the Tughra a flower, including mint and accession date; Reverse: Title as sultân al-barrayn .... with the regnal year over the end of the third line. Rare date, Extremely fine.)"
This type was struck years 8-16 and is listed very inexpensively in the SCWC.
