This specimen was lot 1220 in Jean Elsen sale 148 (Brussels, September 2021), where it sold for €260 (about US$369 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY, Republic (1923-), AV 100 kuruş, 1946 (1923/23). Ismet Inonu. Very Fine." This type was struck years 20-27 with the head of Inonu, who succeeded as president after Ataturk's death. The calendar dates from the founding of the republic in 1923.
