This specimen was lot 34447 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $114. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 25 Kurush 1923//20 UNC. Head of Inonu. Full mint bloom. From the Commander Collection." This type was struck 1943-50. The 100 kurush was slightly lighter than a sovereign. There is also a 25 kurush with the head of Ataturk.
Recorded mintage: unknown but not rare.
