This specimen was lot 33361 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $504. The catalog description[1] noted, "Ottoman Empire. Abdul Hamid I 40 Para (Piastre) AH 1187 (AD 1773/4) XF Details (Cleaned) PCGS, Tarabalus Gharb mint (in Libya). A very rare type, attractive despite the cleaning. Ex Dr. Hans Wilski Collection. From the Engelen Collection of World Coinage." In the eighteenth century, Tripoli was one of the Barbary States preying on commerce plying the Mediterranean. This is noted as a scarce one-year type.
