Stephen Album sale 50, lot 2061

This specimen was lot 2061 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $102. The catalog description[1] noted, "TRIPOLI: Mehmet IV, 1648-1687, AE para, AH(1)078, oblong flan, well struck, Fine." In the eighteenth century, Tripoli was one of the Barbary States preying on commerce plying the Mediterranean. This type was struck AH 1076-1078, 1083-1087, 1091 and 1094, most with two digit dates. It is very scarce in collectible condition.
