This specimen was lot 42678 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "TRANSYLVANIA. Ducat, 1757. Karlsburg Mint. Maria Theresa. NGC AU-58. On the cusp of Mint State status, this enchanting offering presents a pale yellow hue and strong strike, an emanates from a rather popular collecting area." This ducat was struck in Transylvania 1746-65, during the early part of the reign of Maria Theresia. After the death of her husband, Francis I, in 1765, a veiled bust (Fr-544) was used.
