This specimen was lot 4606 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabruck, March 2024), where it sold for €550 (about US$722 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Karl VI. 1711-1740. 1/2 Reichstaler 1716, Siebenbürgen. RR Hübsche Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Austria, Charles VI, 1711-40, half thaler of 1716, for Transylvania. Handsome patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"
By 1716, the Hapsburgs had evicted the Turks and the native dynasty from Transylvania and were firmly in control for the next two centuries. This type was struck 1716-20 and is expensive.
