This specimen was lot 2947 in Sincona sale 51 (Zürich, October 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"Chulalongkorn (Rama V), 1868-1910. 5 Satang RS 127 (1908), Brüssel. Abschlag in Gold. Sehr selten. NGC PF65. (Thailand, Chulalongkorn (Rama V), 1868-1910, five satang of 1908, Brussels mint, Off-metal strike in gold, Very rare, gem proof.)"
The production coin in nickel was struck 1908-37. This off-metal strike is likely a salesman's sample and was surely struck in small numbers.
Recorded mintage: 7,000,000.
Specification: nickel, 18 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM Pn51 (gold), KM Y36 (nickel), Friedberg 26f.
