JE162-2119r.jpg

This specimen was lot 2119 in Jean Elsen sale 162 (Brussels, June 2025), where it sold for €7,000 (about US$9,702 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SIAM, Rama V (1868-1910), AV 1 satang, RS 127 (1908). Gold pattern. Nice coloured toning. Extremely Fine - Uncirculated." The production coin was struck in bronze RS127-130 and BE2456-2480 in large numbers and is common. This off-metal strike is likely a salesman's sample and was surely struck in small numbers.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.931 fine silver, this specimen 7.98 g, 22,5 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM Pn50 (gold), KM Y35 (regular issue), Fr-26g.
