This specimen was lot 73598 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "THAILAND. Fuang (1/8 Baht), RS 123 (1904). PCGS MS-65 Gold Shield. Extremely argent and somewhat matte in nature, this blistering Gem presents tremendous radiance and stunning eye appeal. Tied with just five other specimens for the finest graded in the PCGS census." This type was struck RS 121-127. Presentation strikes in gold exist. Rama V is the potentate starring (some say mocked) in the musical "The King and I."
