This specimen was lot 73602 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "THAILAND. 1/2 Att (Solot), RS 124 (1905). PCGS MS-64 Red Gold Shield. A brilliant and dazzling near Gem, this example offers an intense degree blazing red color and luster." This type was introduced in RS 114; this is the final issue. Rama V is the potentate starring (some say mocked) in the musical "The King and I." Eight att made a fuang and eight fuang made a baht, giving this coin a face value of 1/128 of a baht.
