Sincona sale 73, lot 4637

This specimen was lot 4637 in Sincona sale 73 (Zürich, November 2021), where it sold for 2,300 CHF (about US$2,959 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | Confederation | Gedenkmünzen. 50 Franken 2004 B, Bern. FIFA Centennial. . Selten. Polierte Platte. Im Originaletui mit Zertifikat. (Switzerland, fifty francs of 2004, FIFA centennial. Rare, Choice Proof, In original box with certificate.)"

This NCLT was accompanied by a silver twenty francs. Another gold fifty francs of 2004 (KM 110) celebrated the Matterhorn.

Recorded mintage: 10,000.

Specification: 11.29 g, 0.900 fine gold, 25.1 mm diameter, this specimen 11.28 g.
