This specimen was lot 35172 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $199.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Confederation 'Battle of Laupen' 5 Francs 1939-B UNC. Issued for the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Laupen. By far, the most elusive of the 20th century Swiss commemoratives. A lightly toned example with full original luster. Mintage of just 30,000 pieces." The five francs was reduced from 25 g to 15 g in 1931. This specimen sold for half the catalog value.
