Stack's Bowers 2021 NYINC sale, lot 24620

This specimen was lot 24620 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. 2 Rappen, 1851-A. Paris Mint. PCGS MS-64 Brown Gold Shield. Featuring a slight woodgrain nature, this lustrous example presents some solid color and luster." This type was struck 1850-51 at Paris and 1866, 1870, 1875, 1879, 1883-90 at Berne. This is a fairly common date.

Recorded mintage: 3,720,000.

Specification: 3 g, bronze, 20 mm diameter.
