Sweden 1936-G krona
This specimen was lot 73348 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2023), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Krone, 1936-G. Stockholm Mint. Gustaf V. NGC PROOFLIKE-66 Cameo. This beautiful Gem example delivers a sharp contrast and delivers all the hallmarks of a prooflike striking, despite the "prooflike" designation from NGC." This type was struck 1924-42 and this date is common in all grades. In 1942, the coin was reduced to 7 g, 0.400 fine silver, and struck in that form until 1968, when silver was removed completely. The two kronor underwent a similar process.
