Sweden 1937-G krona
This specimen was lot 74666 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Krona, 1937-G. Stockholm Mint. Gustaf V. PCGS MS-66. An alluring specimen, this handsome Krona is rich with a watery and bright surface luster, and charms with some handsome golden tone at the peripheral legends." This type was struck 1924-42 and this date is common in all grades. In 1942, the coin was reduced to 7 g, 0.400 fine silver, and struck in that form until 1968, when silver was removed completely. The two kronor underwent a similar process.
