This specimen was lot 11410 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €240 (about US$250). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 1/3 Riksdaler, 1781 - OL. Stockholm Mint. Gustav III. NGC EF-40. Scarce date. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1778-89 and there are several very common dates but this one is scarce.
Recorded mintage: 17,100.
Specifications: 9.75 g, 0.878 fine silver, 30 mm diameter, reeded edge; this specimen 9.67 g.
