This specimen was lot 34527 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $282. The catalog description[1] noted, "Gustaf III Riksdaler 1781-OL AU58 NGC. A very collectible example of the type with original tone on both sides and sparkling luster." This type was struck 1779-92 and most dates, including this one, are fairly common. The type is quite a bit more common than later types of Karl XIII and Karl XIV Johan.
