This specimen was lot 21531 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $2,820. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 4 Daler Plate Money, 1738. Fredrik I (1720-51). VERY FINE. 9 x 10.5 in. (Tingstrom: 99 examples known including 58 pieces from the Nicobar). All stamps present including four full dates. The center stamp is a bit uneven resulting in the lower right hand areas being undefined. The corner stamps are more complete with only one being slightly off the plate and two others having slight weakness to areas of the border. A scarcer year for 4 Dalers, especially for a non Nicobar example. Handsome old dark brown patina with some mahogany highlights." This type was issued 1720-46 and is the most common four daler plate. Millions were made but most were melted down to make other copper or bronze objects.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: copper.

Catalog reference: KM-PM74; AAH-201; BT-A19.
