Straits Settlements 1891 10 cents

This specimen was lot 73226 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $360. The catalog description^[1] noted, "STRAITS SETTLEMENTS. 10 Cents, 1891. London Mint. Victoria. NGC MS-61. A pleasing and presentable coin with frosty luster in the fields and minimal marks for the grade." The type was struck in 1871-1901 and many dates are common, including this one.

Recorded Mintage: 1,380,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 2.71 g, 0.800 fine silver, 18 mm diameter.
