This specimen was lot 4734 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabruck, March 2024), where it sold for €3,000 (about US$3,936 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Straits Settlements (Malaysia). Ku.-1/2 Cent 1891. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung PF 62 BN (6638263-009). Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Polierte Platte, leicht berührt. (Straits Settlements, copper half cent of 1891. Graded NGC PF-62BN. Very scarce in this quality, polished fields, light hairlines.)"
This type was struck for circulation only in 1889; the dates 1890-91 exist only in proof.
