This specimen was lot 4498 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$290 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ St. Gallen, Stadt und Kanton, 15 Kreuzer 1734, St. Gallen. Mzz. Schlange auf Avers und GR auf Revers. Selten. Fast sehr schön. (Switzerland, St. Gall, fifteen kreuzer of 1734, St. Gall mint. Mintmark: snake on obverse and 'GR' on reverse. Rare, About Very Fine.)"

This type was struck 1724-25, 1730-34, 1737-39. The SCWC mentions the "GR" mintmark only for 1730-31 but 'tis plain on this example and the accompanying 1738. The convention thaler was 120 kreuzer.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, 29 mm diameter, this specimen 5.05 g.

Catalog reference: KM 88, TZN 98a. D.T. 808d, HMZ 2-905f.
