St. Gall 1737-GR 15 kreuzer
This specimen was part of lot 5499 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$151 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ. St. Gallen. Stadt und Kanton. 15 Kreuzer 1737, St. Gallen. 15 Kreuzer 1737, zeitgenössische Fälschung. Mzz. Schlange und GR. Lot von 2 Stück. Schön-sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of St. Gall, fifteen kreuzers of 1737, one genuine and one fake, St. Gall mint, with snake and GR mintmark. Fine-Very Fine, two pieces.)"
This type was struck 1724-25, 1730-34, 1737-39 and most dates are fairly common, including this one. The convention thaler was 120 kreuzer.
