Sincona sale 47, lot 2967

This specimen was lot 2967 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 450 CHF (about US$540 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, St. Gallen, Stadt und Kanton, Taler 1622. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (canton of St. Gall, thaler of 1622. Rare in this condition, Very fine-extremely fine.)"

Thalers for St. Gall are few and far between; this issue of 1620-24 is the only one that is affordable.
