This specimen was lot 46102 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $1,020. The catalog description[1] noted, "SRI LANKA. 5000 Rupees, 1998. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Struck for the 50th Year of Independence, featuring a statue of the deity Avalokitesvara. A brilliant Proof with hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices."

Recorded mintage: 5,000 proofs.
