This specimen was lot 1205 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN: Francisco Franco, caudillo, 1947-1975, 1 peseta, 1947(52), a wonderful quality example! PCGS graded MS64." This type was struck 1948-67 in large numbers and most dates are common in circulated condition. This date is scarce in choice condition. Altho the date below the bust is 1947, the actual date is in the stars on the reverse; Spain was the only country to do this.
Recorded mintage: 18,000,000[2] or 19,195,000[3].
Specification: aluminum bronze, 3.5 g, 21 mm diameter, reeded edge.
