This specimen was lot 71553 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. Peseta, 1947 (49). NGC MS-65. "19" and "49" incuse in stars on reverse. SCARCE star date. Well struck with an attractive cartwheel effect. Light tone with good eye appeal." This type was struck 1948-67 in large numbers and most dates are common. This date is scarce but not rare. Altho the date below the bust is 1947, the actual date is in the stars on the reverse.

Recorded mintage: 27,600,000.

Specification: 3.5 g, aluminum bronze, 21 mm diameter.
