This coin, issued in the early years of the Franco regime (1939-75), is a descendant of the silver peseta issued in the late nineteenth century. This type was minted until 1950 with a frozen date, hence the large mintage. Later pesetas of the Franco regime featured the Caudillo's portrait.
Recorded mintage: 150,000,000, common but scarce choice.
Specification: 3.5 g, aluminum bronze, 21 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: Cayón-17796, KM 767, very common but scarce choice.
