This specimen was lot 317 in Aureo y Calicó sale 448 (Barcelona, March 2025), where it sold for 170 € (about US$222 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "1805. Carlos IV. Seville. CN. 2 reales. Nice. Original luster. EBC/EBC+ [choice extremely fine]." This type was struck at Seville 1793-1808. They were debased in an attempt to keep them inside Spain. Assayer CN is noted for 1793-1808. The minors, especially one and two reales, are much more common than the pesos.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.
