CNG Lissner collection, lot 888

This specimen was lot 888 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $605. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN, Reino de España. Carlos IV. 1788-1808. AR 1/2 Real. Sevilla (Sevilla) mint. Carlos Tiburcio de Roxas and Nicolas Lamas, assayers. Dated 1793 S CN. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 65WINGS APPROVED. Superb gem beautifully toned. It may be small but it has a monster appearance. Highest graded for the date and only two in this grade for the type. Purchased from Ben Adams." It is one of a series minted in Spain at Madrid and Seville 1792-1808 for Charles IV. The type is listed quite low in the SCWC but is very hard to find.
