The specimen shown was lot 545 in Cayon Subastas sale in Madrid, on February 4 2012, where it sold for 340 € (about US$528 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Madrid. 8 reales. 1740. JF. Cy9418 (este mismo ejemplar) Hojitas saltadas en campo anv. y rev. MBC-. Último año. (Madrid 8 reales 1740-JF. Struck-through objects on obverse and reverse. About very fine. Last year of issue.)"
This type was issued at Madrid 1728-1740. All the early eight reales of Spain are rare and expensive.
