Peru 1740-L V 8 reales
This specimen was lot 720 in Sedwick sale 34 (Winter Park, FL, November 2023), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "Lima, Peru, cob 8 reales, 1740 V. Deeply toned AVF with part of edge corroded away, full pillars with bold date and clear assayer, most of cross." Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 27.07 g, 0.917 fine silver, this specimen 25.30 grams.
