Spain 1734-S PA 8 reales

This Spanish equivalent of the pillar dollar was struck at the Seville mint 1731-36 during the latter part of the reign of king Philip V. The SCWC notes it as more available than previous eight reales. It is still very scarce, especially compared to the enormous output of the Latin American mints. No further eight reales were struck betwen 1741 and 1762. The bust type was introduced to the Spanish mints in 1772.
