This specimen was lot 192 in Aureo y Calicó sale 448 (Barcelona, March 2025), where it sold for 160 € (about US$209 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "1622. Felipe IV. Segovia. 8 maravedis. Nice. Scarce in this condition. EBC/EBC- [about extremely fine]. Ex Aureo 05/11/1993, no. 451." This type was milled at Segovia 1621-26 and is common in worn condition. At this time, Segovia was the only Spanish mint using the screw press; the products of the other mints were hammered.
