This specimen was lot 73354 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. Cob Real, 1588-SD. Seville Mint. Philip II. PCGS VF-35. From the Richard August Collection." While the auctioneers listed this as 1588, close examination shows the date to be 1589/8, which is how Cayón lists it. The type is known for 1589-98 and undated.
