This specimen was part of lot 33802 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), which sold for $960. The catalog description[1] noted, "11-Piece Certified George VI Proof and Prooflike 1952 Set, 1) Farthing PR67 Red, KM32.2. 2) 1/2 Penny PR66 Red, KM 33. 3) Penny PR66 Red, KM 34.2. 4) 3 Pence PR66, KM 35.2. 5) 6 Pence PR67, KM 36.2. 6) Shilling PR66+, KM 37.2. 7) Florin PR67, KM 38.2. 8) 2-1/2 Shillings PR67, KM 39.2. 9) 5 Shillings PL66, KM 41. 10) 1/2 Pound PR67, KM 42. 11) Pound PR64, KM 43. A high-grade attractive 1952 set composed mainly of gems. It should be noted that the 5 Shilling coin is prooflike rather than proof." The penny was struck in South Africa 1923-60, with this type noted for 1951-52. This date is common.
