South Africa 1928 2-1/2 shillings
This specimen was lot 23024 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $105.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTH AFRICA. 2 1/2 Shillings, 1928. NGC AU-55. Attractive tangerine and smokey blue toned surfaces with very limited amounts of wear." The 2½ shillings or half crown was struck in South Africa 1923-60. Specification: 14.14 g, 0.800 fine silver, 32.3 mm diameter.
